Poems have always interested me; they have always shown me a different sides and views to life. In the 8th grade Mr. Phillips made us do a poetry book, a time to write my own material and let out both the good and the bad times of my life. These poems all written by Kenn Nesbitt caught my eye from the very beginning.
While Strolling Down the Beach Today
This poem reminds me of summer and how much I love going to the beach for a day in the sun. This poem is worth recognizing, because when I was younger I loved playing in the sand and digging the deapest hole I could. If I found anything out of the ordinary I would always cherish it as if I had never seen such a beautiful sight. In this poem the child found something that would change his life forever.
The Teachers Jumped Out of the Windows
This poem sounds a little strange; jumping out of windows; how dangerous. As I read along the teachers acted like the children on the last day of school. They ran, they jumped, they even fled out of doors to enjoy the first day of summer. This poem is worth memorizing, because when I was a little girl I did not know that the teachers enjoyed summer as much as we did, but as I grow older the teachers are a little more anxious then we are, because the closer summer comes, the closer finals are.

My Puppy Punched Me In the Eye
A puppy? Punching someone in the eye? This made me ponder a bit. Although it may be a short poem I think this is worth presenting, because a has a little pazzazz, a little comedy, and a little corky as well. It’s about how little animals beat this kid up by using kung fu. As little kids we watch cartoons that do the things listed in this poem, but never thought it could be true.
These poems put together add up to 333 words.

Just by looking at the cover of Fahrenheit 451 it sends the message of dark gloomy night after a terrible fire; and it may have been. Before reading Fahrenheit 451 I knew that this novel is not about terrible fires that happen by acciedent, they usually happen to those who read books. By reading the text on the cover, “The novel of firemen who are paid to set books ablaze.” is perfect for the illustration just to the right of it. On the cover shows books half burned; if someone was caught reading Romeo and Juliet that is shown, this would not have been left partially burned, but completely burned so there would be no possible way to read it. Many books have had many different covers on them, but have three distinct trends.
On many covers I have seen there has been a familiar trend of fire, books, and often a man looking over the fire as if he needed to do something to stop it. The reasoning behind the flames may be because powerful people passed a law against reading books. If one was found with a book, magazine, or some type of reading material, firemen would come to the house and burn the book. There was much punishment for refusing to hand over the book quietly. Many covers have had the same or stronger image provided by Fahrenheit 451 to attrack high strung action readers to maybe find what they are looking for. Although people say we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, most of us do, that’s why Fahrenheit 451 has shown on the cover. This is a strategy used to attrack more of a broad audience.
Sorry about the first one sent, this is the real one.

When stress starts to pile up, that might be a sign when people need to take a break. Something to do when they need to get away. Fishing is a perfect way to get away and clear minds. Fishing can be fun, exciting, but also teaches people many things they may not realize. There is a lot more to fishing than people think.
Need to get away; get away to teh beautiful, quiet, warm nature where there is a place to fish. Fishing may not be appealing to a lot of people, but what many do not realize is that it can relax your body and mind. It allows people to get away from the city with due dates, schedules, and meetings that creates unneccessary stress. Fishing teaches people how to be patient, how to slow down, and think. To think about anything; to clear the overloaded mind of a business man. People do not know what they are doing.
For instance, when people are fishing liesurely, they can use a brightly colored store bought bait. This allows people to be cheap; all they need is a cheap fishing pole, cheap fishing line, and a cheap weight. The cheap materials are for smaller fish that can be found in many lakes. When people go for bigger fish, they need a thicker pole, thicker line, and better tastier bait to attract the fish they want. When fishing for halibut and/or salmon, people would use real meat from smaller dead fish. These strategies are used to more successful yet more relaxed as well.
Getting away is a good thing every once in a while. It allows people to calm down, reenergized the body and reboot the mind as well. Fishing can do just that. Patience is a tought thing to have these days when teh world is based on high speed all the time. Peole focus on how to make things the fastest they can be; but the more they strive, the more they push away. Patience comes in handy at the times when not expect it the least.

In this essay the author points out a very interesting fact, in many places people take naps during the day. Personaly, I have always thought that naps were for children, except those times when you need a power nap. I do agree with her, because I do think it’s a good idea to take naps during the day. An extra 15 minutes asleep a day is perfect to keep you energized. In places like Japan and many European countires CEO’s take naps and they still get the job done. I think the reason why society looks down upon taking naps at work is because if we do need a nap we lay down where ever we can find a place, but people who do have regular naps most likely have couches in their offices. Overall, I do agree with her argument

2.) The humans are depicted in the drawings, because it looks like they hate the vegetables and want to do tests to see if people can improve them.
3.)The foods are anthropomorphized, because by the end of the cartoons the vegetables are the ones who act like the humans.
4.) In frames 1 and 4 they show parallelism, because we can clone human body parts and possibly more, so the cartoon is showing that we are kind of doing the same thing to vegetables as we do to humans in a way.
5.) To the final commentary, it is ironic, because the humans do deserve it in a way. It is also ironic that in the last frame the vegetables are about to have the humans as dinner, instead of having the humans eat the vegetables.
6.) The tone in the beginning of the commentaries is a factual information tone, but by the end of the commentaries the tone gets very serious. They want to get across that we may be starting something that we shouldn’t be.
Sorry I posted this so late again, I’ve been extremely busy. Just wanted you to know that I had this done, but I thought you’d want it on the blog.

3. Woolf asserts being “unconscious”, because she wants her viewers to think the way she does. We wouldn’t be able to understand the essay if we didn’t understand the fact(s). Being unconscious can be a good thing, because it allows people to expand and elaborate on things conscious people couldn’t. On the other hand you need to be somewhat conscious so you don’t get off on a tangent about other things that don’t relate. People would be very successful if they could be both.
4. When Woolf wrote “The shadow of her wings fell on my page; I heard the rustling of her skirts in the room” (para 3). Means she felt, saw, heard the presence of the phantom with her. By being there, youy can see that it effectsher writing.
9. While Woolf sits and ponders about her writing, she slowly becomes unconscious. She tries to extrapolates her thinking to make her writing better. She, as many writers do, may step away to do something to clear her mind so genius ideas can come to her.

Virginia Woolf’s “Angel in the House”, is about a true women in the ninteenth century. A women who is motherly, sympathetic, and unselfish, a perfect women. To be successful in her career Woolf had to kill the angel that was huanting her, the side of her who wanted to be nice about her work. Once she was able to kill her angel she could focus and get the job done she was assigned to do. In a writer’s career, people need to be confident in their opinion.
Killing the angel may not always be the best thing to do tho. Maybe just put her in the basement until you need her would be best. When your home with a husband/wife and kids you don’t want to not have the characteristics a true woman needs. The time when a child gets hurt or when your out in public and need have good manners, qualities of a perfect woman. The ones who can block out their angel until needed are the ones who are the most successful, especially a writer’s career.

Post Hoc - My internet has been fine with no problems; but when I found out I could have a faster internet, I downloaded what I needed. The next day when I turned on my computer, I found that downloading a faster internet made the rest of my computer slower than ever.
Slippery Slope-People expect to feed just one bird when they go to the beach; but once you feed one, you need to feed all of them with what you have.
Begging the Quetion-If a sign that said DANGEROUS-DO NOT ENTER, then why do people insist on entering; wouldn’t they know they could get hurt or that could be putting their life in danger?
